Why choose WalkerDog?
We love animals of all sizes, shapes and species! We know how challenging it can be to find a reliable pet sitter and we will take care of your furry (or scaly or feathered) friends as if they were our own.
We are reliable and trustworthy. This is our profession and we take it seriously. Your trust and your pet's safety are our number one priority. We are insured and bonded for your protection and ours. We are a member of Pet Sitters International and certified through them.
We love being outdoors no matter what the weather and will be happy to accompany your dog on hikes in rain, wind, cold, heat, and gloriously gorgeous weather while keeping them safe from any climate extremes. Or, if they prefer, we can cuddle on the couch. That's good sometimes too!
We have experience with animals with medical and behavioral issues and can work with you to make sure your beloved companion stays healthy, safe, and relaxed when you need to be away. You shouldn't have to worry about your best friend(s) just because you deserve some time off or need to be at work. We can administer medications including oral and injectable and SQ fluids. We can implement training programs that you have developed with your pet trainer.
Walker & Betsy
Owner Betsy Batejan dreamed about starting a Pet Sitting and Dog Walking business when she had trouble finding reliable pet sitting for her 2 dogs and 2 cats. One of the dogs, a senior Coonhound named Walker, had health issues and was on a variety of medications and supplements. Her other dog, Lulu, had issues with fear and anxiety. The cats, Charlie and Piper, did not get along well and needed to be fed separately. It was not easy finding someone who could handle all of that. She realized if she was having problems, then others were likely to as well. So she began planning how to make her dream a reality.
After 32 years as a Registered Nurse, and 23 of those years as a Certified Nurse Midwife, that dream is now a reality in the form of WalkerDog! Years in the medical profession provided a basis in crisis management, compassionate care, and a sound work ethic.
WalkerDog is named in memory of Walker the Coonhound who passed away and rests peacefully under his favorite oak tree. Lulu is still alive and getting better with her fear and anxiety through diligent training, desensitization, and counter conditioning. The staff of WalkerDog are here to provide you the peace of mind and same loving care for your pets that we provide for our own.
